Concrete City- Nanticoke, Pennsylvania

NANTICOKE;

pretty much your average boring little town. some things are worn down and old, it gives the town an old-fashioned laid back feeling. the most happening thing there seems to be a lonely Rite Aid. However, Nanticoke's best kept secret is hidden into the forest... its historical, interesting, and you CANT get in trouble for exploring. It's called Concrete City. If you look it up on google, it will tell you really neat stuff about it. Something i found particularly interesting was that there are two floors and a basement for each house. However, the second floor [top floor] has stairs that literally lead to nowhere. There are a bunch of houses that are in a circle, all facing eachother. Many people now use it as a free place to play paintball; bounced paintballs were found on the floor of a few of the houses. One thing that was hard about finding Concrete City is that it's not officially on any maps or anything. We couldnt just shove it into mapquest and expect to find out exactly how to get there. We had to mapquest how to get to Nanticoke and then when we got to the town it was up to us to find the place. That's pretty hard considering theres a bunch of wooded forest areas in the town, something that confused us. We found ourselves walking on a bunch of trails looking for the place, only to come up empty handed. We decided to ask the locals which way to go. After accidentally asking a blind guy (WTF?) we found a mailman (SCORE!) What mailman doesnt know how to get everywhere? He gave us directions that sounded legit, so we listened to him. AND HE WAS RIGHT. It only took 1 min on foot on trail to get there... it was the easiest hike of the day. ----- Right when you enter the place you feel this awesome curiosity that makes u wanna explore all of the houses right away.

this site is going to be my new spot to post all of my exploring pictures, and shit on all the places we visit. when searching for places to explore, lack of good directions sucked and wasn't helpful in our quest to visit sweet places. i hope this helps people find shit and explore. and be cool. and yeah. all that shit.
